About YieldMaxCalc
What this site is, who builds it, where the numbers come from, and how it pays for itself.
What this site is
YieldMaxCalc is a dividend and DRIP calculator built specifically for option-income ETFs — YieldMax, Roundhill, NEOS, JPMorgan — plus the traditional dividend funds people compare them against. The distinguishing feature is that it refuses to quote a headline yield without also showing what happened to NAV over the same period.
A 90% annualized distribution rate on a fund whose share price fell 45% is not a 90% return. Most of the sites that rank for these tickers show the first number and not the second. Every ticker page here carries both, plus the per-payment change, the cumulative distributions collected since inception, and a side-by-side comparison tool so you can put two funds on identical axes.
Independence and sister sites
YieldMaxCalc is independent. It is not a media company, not a fund, and not affiliated with YieldMax, Tidal Investments, or any other ETF issuer mentioned on the site. No issuer pays for coverage, placement, or a favourable description here, and none has any say over what the pages show.
We also run OptioNerd, an options analytics site, and WhyTheMove, which covers why individual stocks move. Both are relevant to the funds here: every YieldMax ETF is an options strategy on a single stock, so what the options market and the underlying are doing is what the next distribution is made of. Ticker pages link across to WhyTheMove where the stock's behaviour explains what a fund's payout just did.
Nothing on this site is financial advice. It is a calculator and a data reference, produced by people who are not licensed financial advisers. The projections the calculator produces are arithmetic on assumptions you supply — not forecasts, and not a recommendation to buy or hold anything.
Where the data comes from
- Prices, quotes, and dividend history come from Financial Modeling Prep, refreshed on a weekday schedule and stored so historical records stay stable even when the upstream feed revises.
- Distribution announcements and ROC percentages are read from YieldMax's own published announcements and 19a-1 notices.
- Distribution schedule dates are computed from the published group calendars, accounting for market holidays.
Data can be wrong or stale. Always confirm against the issuer and your broker before acting on anything here, particularly ex-dates and distribution amounts.
How this site makes money — affiliate disclosure
YieldMaxCalc is free and has no ads. It is funded through a small number of affiliate partnerships with tools we actually use. This section is the full disclosure required by the FTC, and it is deliberately blunt.
We participate in the Koyfin affiliate program. If you subscribe to a Koyfin plan after clicking one of our links, we receive a recurring commission on your payments — currently 25% — and you receive 20%off your first year. The discount is a genuine reduction on Koyfin's standard pricing; it does not cost you anything extra, and the price is not marked up to fund the commission. We also receive a discounted Koyfin licence of our own as part of the program.
Every affiliate link on this site is marked as such at the point of the link, opens in a new tab, and carries rel="sponsored". They appear in two forms: bordered partner blocks, which announce themselves, and contextual links inside prose, which name the reader discount openly and carry an info icon repeating this disclosure. We do not put affiliate links inside data tables or announcement rows, and we never present one as a data value — those surfaces exist to answer a question, and a commercial link mixed into them would compromise the answer.
A commission does not buy coverage or a favourable description. If a tool stops being worth recommending, the link comes down. If you would rather not send us a commission, going directly to koyfin.com costs you the 20% discount but works perfectly well.
Why we use Koyfin
The figures on YieldMaxCalc often lead to questions about a company, sector or group of holdings. We use Koyfin to answer those — screening, earnings transcripts, custom dashboards and multi-ticker comparisons. Koyfin is not used to produce the charts on this site; those are built from the data sources listed above.
Start with a 7-day full-access trial. YieldMaxCalc readers also get 20% off paid plans. Free tier available. Affiliate link — we earn a commission if you subscribe, at no extra cost to you. Full disclosure.
