Total Return Analyzer
A distribution rate is not a return. This measures what a fund actually produced — cumulative distributions set against the change in NAV over the same window.

What does a total return figure include?
Total return combines two components: the cumulative distributions received over the holding period, and the change in NAV across the same window. Many high-yield funds advertise distribution rates that look spectacular in isolation but mask meaningful NAV erosion. The analyzer above shows how much of the return came from distributions versus price change — a 50% annualized distribution rate paired with a 30% NAV decline is a very different investment than a 50% distribution with flat NAV.
YieldMax Semiconductor Portfolio Option Income ETF (CHPY) is issued by YieldMax. Actively managed portfolio of 15-30 US semiconductor stocks (NVDA, AVGO, AMD, TSM, etc.) paired with a covered call spread overlay. Weekly distributions, ~40% target yield. That strategy directly shapes the gap between headline yield and real yield: option-premium and covered-call funds tend to show large gaps, while traditional dividend ETFs and index funds usually show small ones. How wide that gap becomes from here depends on the price movement and volatility of the names CHPY writes against. Assessing that means working through the holdings rather than studying the wrapper alone. Koyfin lets you screen and research those holdings individually — 20% off for YieldMaxCalc readers.

This page measures what CHPY has already returned. What comes next will depend on a basket of underlying positions, each with its own earnings outlook, valuation and volatility. Koyfin lets you screen them, research them individually, and compare them with CHPY on multi-ticker charts with distributions reinvested.
