A distribution rate is not a return. This measures what a fund actually produced — cumulative distributions set against the change in NAV over the same window.

What does a total return figure include?

Total return combines two components: the cumulative distributions received over the holding period, and the change in NAV across the same window. Many high-yield funds advertise distribution rates that look spectacular in isolation but mask meaningful NAV erosion. The analyzer above shows how much of the return came from distributions versus price change — a 50% annualized distribution rate paired with a 30% NAV decline is a very different investment than a 50% distribution with flat NAV.

YieldMax R2000 0DTE Covered Call Strategy ETF (RDTY) is issued by YieldMax. Sells daily 0DTE options on the Russell 2000. Weekly distributions. That strategy directly shapes the gap between headline yield and real yield: option-premium and covered-call funds tend to show large gaps, while traditional dividend ETFs and index funds usually show small ones. How wide that gap becomes from here depends on the price movement and volatility of the names RDTY writes against. Assessing that means working through the holdings rather than studying the wrapper alone. Koyfin lets you screen and research those holdings individually 20% off for YieldMaxCalc readers.

For the detail behind each payment, see the RDTY dividend history. To project how future RDTY distributions compound under DRIP, open the RDTY dividend calculator.
