YMAG Analysis

YieldMax Magnificent 7 Fund of Option Income ETFs — is the distribution income, or your own capital coming back?

Price$11.25
Forward yield41.6%
TTM yield51.9%
Real yield13.4%
NAV (1Y)-25.3%

Partly returned capital

Over the last 1Y, YMAG's 51.9% distribution yield was offset by a 25.3% NAV decline, leaving a real yield of 13.4%. Only about 26% of the headline yield was economically yours.

From here, YMAG would need a 34% price gain just to return to where it started the window — before any further distributions are counted.

This verdict is generated from fixed thresholds applied to live price and distribution data, not written per fund. Two funds with the same profile always get the same wording.

How YMAG generates income

YMAG is a YieldMax fund-of-funds that holds YieldMax ETFs covering the Magnificent 7 tech stocks and passes through their distributions. Instead of picking individual YieldMax ETFs, YMAG gives you diversified exposure to the YieldMax option income strategy across multiple underlying stocks in a single ticker.

The distributions you receive are aggregated from the underlying YieldMax ETFs' own weekly payouts. Because the fund holds multiple positions, the impact of any single stock's volatility on your total income is reduced — but so is the potential for outsized distributions from any one name.

Like all YieldMax products, a portion of YMAG's distributions may be return of capital (ROC). Because the fund is a layer on top of other YieldMax funds that themselves may distribute ROC, the compounding effect can mean high ROC percentages. Check the latest announcement for current ROC figures.
